Surprise Wedding Painting at White Dove Barn
Take a peek inside the creation of Hannah & Zach’s live wedding painting at The White Dove Barn, just outside of Nashville, TN. It was such a pleasure creating for these two. Hannah requested that their dogs, Wano & Yadi, were included. What a sweet touch and a girl after my own heart, Go St. Louis Cardinals!
I was connected with Hannah last year through Instagram and after our discovery call she mentioned to her mom how much she wanted to hire me for her wedding. A few days later her mom called me wanting to book and surprise Hannah & Zach as a wedding and Christmas gift. Needless to say, it was the perfect gift and surprise for this sweet couple!
Before the wedding, I met with Hannah to discuss her desires for the painting. She chose the backdrop of the breathtaking ceremony spot at the property. The painting would have natural tones to match her home interiors and wedding colors, white, sage, and dusty blue. Also important to add to the painting was the arbor, which was created by her fiance, Zachary.
I began the painting at the ceremony, but completed the majority of it at the reception so that the guests could witness the creative process. I was situated by the buffet line, which made it fun for guests to observe and chat with me as they passed by.
The most exciting part for guests is definitely when the bride and groom are added in the painting. I love seeing their awe and excitement as the events they just witnessed are painted before their eyes.
My favorite part of the night is the grand reveal, where the couple gets to see their live wedding painting for the first time. I always team up with the photographer and videographer to capture the magic.
The painting is taken back to my studio for touchups requested by the couple, varnish, professional framing and professional studio photography. This painting will be made into thank you cards for the couple’s guests. I also have the ability to create prints of the painting, which make unique and timeless gifts for family members.
